Press Release - Manpower Awarded the 2020 Business Leadership Award

​The Grundy Livingston Kankakee Workforce Board would like to recognize Manpower – Pontiac, IL branch with the 2020 Business Leadership Award.  This award recognizes a private sector company that has demonstrated leadership in the areas of workforce services and economic development and collaborated with Workforce Services/Workforce Board during the 2020 fiscal year. 

Manpower is being recognized in this category due to their countless and continued efforts in workforce development.  Sandy Erschen, Manpower Market Manager, has been a valuable Workforce Board member since 2000.  She is the chair of the Program Operations Committee, member of Executive Committee, and Workforce Board member.  “Ms. Erschen is a strong advocate for workforce development.  Manpower is a community partner and continues to focus on creating the talent pipeline of the future as well as their current workforce “, said Ladonna Russell, Workforce Board Executive Director.
 
Manpower - Pontiac, IL branch has participated in the Livingston County 8th grade career fair, participates in the Graduate & Get Paid program, participated in the Livingston County Manufacturing Tour for local educators, and participates in the yearly Livingston Workforce Services job fair.  In addition, Manpower partners with the local Livingston Workforce Services office to ensure employers have the skilled workforce it needs to be successful. 

Lastly, Manpower – Pontiac, IL location offers its Manpower employees the ability to take free skills training and even the opportunity to take free GED program.  The opportunity to be employed by Manpower and continue upgrading an individual’s skills through the different Manpower programs is an asset to workforce development.
